I’m obsessed with this song: May Favorites 2022

I can’t believe May is already coming to an end. So much has happened for me this month: I finished another year of college, I started working, and I’m currently in my hometown for my brother’s high school graduation. This week I’ll be sharing some of my favorite things that have been a part of my May.

Anxious People by Fredrik Backman

I was given this book by a friend for my birthday back in January, and I finally got around to reading it. I didn’t know much about it going in, but it turned out to be a five star read for me. It’s both comedic and profound at the same time, and I found it very endearing. Highly recommend.

Arcane (Netflix)

My roommate and I binged this series in 48-72 hours, and I honestly cannot stop thinking about it. As my brother said when recommending it to me, you won’t check your phone for the entire duration of the show. It’s that good.

Little Fires Everywhere (Hulu)

I read this book earlier in year, but I just started watching the Hulu adaptation, and I’m really enjoying it. I wasn’t sure how much I would be into it, given that I know how it ends, but the series is different enough from the book that a lot is catching me by surprise. Plus Reese Witherspoon is a queen, so I love that she’s starring in it.

Something Was Wrong

A specific episode of this podcast was recommended to me by a friend, but I ended up listening to a few episodes while on the bus coming back to Milwaukee, and I liked it a lot. The podcast is personal testimonies from survivors of various trauma-related experiences. It touches on some intense topics, but I found some comfort in hearing stories from people that I could relate to. I definitely recommend checking this one out if that’s the type of thing you’re into. (Click here to listen on Spotify.)

Cappuccino

My friend group from high school started using the app Cappuccino to keep in touch. It’s a cute concept if you have a group of long-distance friends. You record up to three minutes and your clip gets combined with each group member’s own clip to make a mini podcast that you all can listen to the next day. There are also fun prompts you can send each other to spark a conversation. It’s quickly become a highlight of my day.

Iced Oatmilk Lattes

And to end, my coffee order as of late has been an iced oatmilk latte. I’m usually a fan of flavored lattes, but for some reason I’ve been into a simple, unflavored latte this past month.

As always, thank you so much for reading. Have a lovely end to your month!
